SOLDIER STORIES: Endangered indeed.
I had the first in a series of phone meetings with a Veteran Affairs psychiatrist today starting a path to recovery. Or help anyway. What ever it’s supposed to be.
Maybe because I don’t like to admit when there’s something wrong with me (just tough it out) but it was very hard talking to the doctor. Some of the questions I had to just put the phone down and breath before I could answer. Making this post isn’t any easier but I feel like getting it out. Maybe some one else will read this and be inspired to find help.
Part of me doesn’t want to do this. But I can’t keep ignoring a growing problem. I’m tired of feeling this way.
You can always go to a VA hospital. I’ve checked into their ER before when I feel like I’m walking a thin line. It helps. They’re good about follow ups too.
It’s hard. Walking through those doors the first time, it’s really fucking hard. But you should go. They are there to help.

and you better stand up and face the flag! there’s people that fought for your right to do that, the least you could do is respect it and stand.
And while I respect your right to say “Under God,” I’d rather not be chastised for NOT saying it. Which happens way, way, way too often.
Respect goes both ways.
Ummm, I fought for your right to not respect it. Freedom of speech means allowing all forms of speech, not just the ones I agree with. You have the right to not stand for the pledge and I have the right to think you are lame.
And I didn’t fight for your right to think I’m lame? I wasn’t even talking about not standing, dumbass. I clearly mentioned not saying “under God.” Good reading skills.
You’re a prick.
